Canolfan Cymru argyfer Ymchwil Gofal Sylfaenol a Gofal Brys (Canolfan PRIME)

PRIME Centre Wales is a research centre focused on primary and emergency care. Funded by Health and Care Research Wales the Centre works to develop and coordinate high quality research proposals and to support researchers across Wales and beyond. 

The all-Wales centre is directed by Professor Andrew Carson-Stevens, Professor of Patient Safety at the lead site, Cardiff University. PRIME Centre Wales is co-led in partnership with Bangor University, University of South Wales, and Swansea University.

Aim

PRIME Centre Wales aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Wales and internationally by:

  • Conducting high quality research on topics of national policy priority, contributing to the evidence base in primary and emergency care;

  • Ensuring that research findings are translated into policy and practice.

Wales COVID-19 Evidence Centre

In 2021, PRIME Centre Wales was awarded funding from the Welsh Government for the Wales COVID-19 Evidence Centre (WC19EC).

Wales School for Social Prescribing Research (WSSPR)

WSSPR is a virtual all-Wales school which aims to develop a social prescribing evaluation methodology, building on the work previously completed by the Wales Social Prescribing Research Network (WSPRN).
